Hundreds of East Dunbartonshire’s most talented young musicians will return to the Royal Concert Hall stage next week.
For the first time in two years, the Christmas Gala Concert will take place at 7.30pm on Monday, December 5 promising a night of festive favourites and orchestral music from school pupils from across the East Dunbartonshire Council area.
Councillor Lynda Williamson, convener of the council’s education committee, said, “I am delighted the spectacular East Dunbartonshire Christmas Gala Concert is back this year.
"It is a wonderful event that kicks off the festivities perfectly and an opportunity to showcase our extremely talented young people.
“For many of the young people, this will be their first performance at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow, something they’ll never forget.
"I am very much looking forward to what promises to be a fantastic show and I would urge family and friends of our young performers to book their tickets at the earliest opportunity so as not to miss out.”
Performers will include pupils from the Secondary Schools Orchestra, Primary Schools Choir, Children's Chorus, Gaelic Unit of Meadowburn Primary School, pupils from Merkland and Campsie View Schools, Youth Choir and Schools Pipe Band as well as a String Ensemble from selected Primary Schools and the newly formed Junior Brass Band.
