A manhunt is underway following a 'terrifying' robbery in Glasgow yesterday.

At around 2.55pm, a 59-year-old woman was approached by a man close to the Glasgow Club Gym on Gairbraid Avenue.

He then demanded her handbag before snatching it from her and fleeing the scene on foot.

He is said to have carried on along Gairbraid Avenue, and right on Maryhill Road.

The suspect has been described as white, about 20 to 30 years old and speaking with an English accent.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing dark trousers and other dark clothing underneath a hi-vis vest.
