A NEW initiative is underway in East Renfrewshire which aims to help people boost their health and wellbeing.
Neilston Well Walks launched at the end of last month, with the group now meeting weekly on Thursdays at noon outside The Bank café, in all weathers.
The walks are open to everyone, regardless of walking experience, and generally last an hour and a half before the group grabs a quick post-walk coffee.
Local resident Anwar Rafiq is using an extended lunch break from work to lead the sessions for Include Me 2 Club (IM2C), which already runs a similar initiative in Barrhead.
He is set to meet up with Renfrewshire South MSP Tom Arthur and IM2C co-founder and chairperson Paul McIlvenny on November 28 to chat about the village's new initiative.
The dad-of-two told the Barrhead News: “We had eight people for the first one, including myself.
“It’s a good start and hopefully we can build on it but we will see how it goes.”
