A JOBS fair will take place at the Barrhead Foundry next month.

East Renfrewshire Council is organising the event, where a range of local companies will be advertising various roles.

Employers signed up so far cover industries such as construction, retail, home care and hospitality and there will be seasonal, contract and permanent jobs on offer.

Among those who will be represented are AC Whyte, McDonald's, B&M, George Leslie, City Gate Construction, Heron Bros and Cosgrove Care.

The fair takes place on Thursday, November 3, from 1pm until 4pm.

Work EastRen – the council’s employability service – will also be there to offer advice, including tips for interviews and help with CVs.

Councillor Danny Devlin, East Renfrewshire's environment and housing convener, said: “If you’re looking for work or your next role, this event will be a fantastic opportunity to not only speak with local employers but also get some tips from Work EastRen staff on how to secure your job.

"We’ve got a great range of employers coming along, so I’d encourage anyone who can to head to the Foundry.”

In preparation for this event, Work EastRen is to host CV and job application workshops.

These will take place from 10am until noon on Tuesday, October 25, and from 2pm until 4pm on Thursday, October 27, at Work EastRen's office in Lowndes Street, Barrhead.
