ANGE POSTECOGLOU has delivered a worrying injury update on Callum McGregor as he admitted 'it doesn't look good'.

The Celtic captain was forced off in the first-half against RB Leipzig after picking up a knee issue.

McGregor had tried to shoot at one end before chasing back and feeling a problem in his knee as he tried to prevent Christian Nkunku's opener.

Seven minutes before the break McGregor had to be withdrawn with Oliver Abildgaard his replacement.

And after the match, manager Postecoglou offered a concerning update on his captain's fitness.

"It doesn't look good," conceded the Celtic boss.

"Again, we're a bit unlucky with the goal 'cause he went to have a shot and something tweaked his knee.

"He put in an enormous effort to chase back and it was his toe-poke that put the guy through.

"Looking at it, it doesn't look good. But I'll wait and see what the doctors say."

Postecoglou also provided a fitness update on Cameron Carter-Vickers who missed the match as he revealed the defender will train separately from the squad tomorrow.

Quizzed on the US international, he said: "We'll see. He'll have a session tomorrow away from the main group.

"Hopefully he's not too far away."
