A motorist was handed a fixed penalty notice by police after a three-vehicle crash in Barrhead on Monday.

An ambulance rushed to the scene of the smash, which took place in Glasgow Road at around 8.30am.

However, none of those involved needed to be taken to hospital.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service told the Barrhead News: "We received a call at 8.34am on Monday morning to attend a road traffic collision on Glasgow Road, Barrhead.

“We dispatched one crew to the scene.”

Police were also alerted to the incident and headed to the area to clear the road.

A spokesperson said: "Police were called to the Glasgow Road area of Barrhead following a three-vehicle crash.

“The road was cleared by 11.30am and one motorist was issued with a fixed penalty notice for road traffic offences.”
