With October finally here and Halloween fast approaching, now is the best time to start looking for your signature spooky decoration this season. 

Glasgow has dozens of pumpkin patches a stone’s throw away from the city, making it a great place to source homegrown jack-o-lanterns for your front steps. 

From Motherwell to East Renfrewshire, here are 4 of the best and closest pumpkin farms around Glasgow.

4 - Mill Park Pumpkin Patch, East Renfrewshire

Mill Park Pumpkin Patch is set to open to pumpkin hunters on the weekends between October 15 and October 23.

The farm is also dog and child friendly, making a nice activity spot for the whole family.

There is free entry but visitors will have to book in advance on the Mill Park Pumpkin Patch website, but be quick as spaces are limited!

3 - East Yonderton Farm, Renfrewshire

Located to the west of Glasgow, East Yonderton Farm is home to dozens of farm-grown fruits and vegetables, chief among them being pumpkins.

The pumpkin patch will open on October 15 and be available all the way up to Halloween.

Pickers must book in advance and can do so by calling 0141 8893 492 or 0141 8877 044 between 9am and 4:30pm.

2 - Arnprior Farm - Stirling

Arnprior Farm in Stirling is a family-owned pumpkin patch to the north of Glasgow and offers a bespoke glamping experience to those wanting to get out of the city.

This year's pumpkin patch is set to start on Monday, October 10, and is a great outing for anyone interested in eco-conscious farming.

1 - M&D's Pumpkin Festival, North Lanarkshire

Scotland's theme park, M&Ds near Strathclyde Park is inviting all the family to attend this year's Pumpkin Festival.

Not only is the festival a great opportunity to pick up a pumpkin for your Halloween celebrations, but it's also a fantastic chance to get into that spooky spirit.

The event will take place from Saturday, October 8 to Sunday, October 30, and will host arts and crafts, a pumpkin trail, storytelling, and an express pumpkin train ride.
