Three people were taken to hospital after a two-car crash in East Renfrewshire on Monday afternoon.

As previously reported, emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident which took place on Kingston Road, in Neilston, at around 3.20pm.

Two people were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and one was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

The road remained closed following the collision before re-opening at 6.55pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said on Monday afternoon: "We were made aware of a crash involving two cars on Kingston Road in Neilston around 3.20pm on Monday, September 19.

"Emergency services are at the scene and the road is currently closed.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson later added: “We received a call to attend a road traffic collision on Kingston Road, Neilston, on the afternoon of September 19.

"We dispatched seven resources, including the Special Operations Response Team and the trauma team.

"Two patients were taken to the Queen Elizabeth hospital, and one patient was transported to the Royal Alexandra hospital”.
