Many organisations and services across East Renfrewshire will be closed on Monday, September 19, the day of the funeral for Queen Elizabeth II.

Barrhead Health Centre will be closed for the day, which has been made a Bank Holiday. It will re-open on Tuesday, September 20.

This includes Levern Medical Practice, Gleniffer Medical Group and Oaks Medical Practice. Elsewhere, the Neilston Medical Centre will also be closed.

All dentists in the area will be shut, including Comfort Dental and Neilston Dental Practice.

East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure has also made the decision to stop its services for the day.

These closures include:

• All leisure venues including all gyms, swimming pools and fitness classes

• All other venues including libraries and community facilities

• All indoor and outdoor activities including ALL sports and arts classes and swimming lessons

East Renfrewshire Council announced schools, nurseries, family centres and office buildings will be closed.

The Rainbow Rooms Hairdressing Salon in Clarkston is also closing as a mark of respect to the longest serving British monarch.

In terms of transport, McGill’s Bus Service will be running a reduced service by running a Saturday timetable.

However, some organisations will be keeping their doors open on the Bank Holiday.

Craigpark Veterinary Centre will remain open.

Rouken Glen Vets will open from 9am to 1pm, but their suppliers will be closed so orders and delivery of medication or food will be on Tuesday, September 20.

Dalmeny Park House Hotel will remain open on the day serving food, drinks and checking in guests.
