Extra staff are being recruited to help make sure passengers using the area’s rail network are safe.
Bosses at ScotRail confirmed they are expanding their Travel Safe Team, which was first introduced in October last year.
Since then, it has been working closely with British Transport Police to support customers and colleagues in the promotion of a safe railway environment, both on trains and in stations.
Ben Doran, ScotRail’s head of safety risk and assurance, said: “We are committed to making sure the railway is safe for our customers and our own people – and this recruitment drive is testament to that.
“Our Travel Safe Team have done an excellent job in promoting a safe railway environment and I’m really looking forward to expanding on their great work.
“We’ll continue our close working relationship with British Transport Police, which includes involvement in multi-agency initiatives, to engage with and educate people on unsafe behaviours on the rail network.”
