A MAN has been arrested after he allegedly punched a member of staff inside a Barrhead pub.
The incident is alleged to have happened at Arthurlie Inns, in the town’s Main Street, at around 6.30pm on Saturday.
It is claimed the man assaulted a bar manager after he was refused entry.
Police were called and CCTV footage was recovered.
The bar manager did not need medical treatment.
Arthurlie Inns only reopened in June, having been forced to close for a year while repairs were carried out after a car crashed into the pub, causing extensive damage.
The owners of the pub declined to comment on Saturday’s incident.
A police spokesperson told the Barrhead News: “A 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with an incident and released pending further inquiries.”
