Eight artistic pupils from East Renfrewshire’s dedicated school for young people with additional support needs have had their work selected for an exhibition.

The pieces by N1 and 2 level students from Isobel Mair School, in Newton Mearns, have been chosen for the SQA Shine Showcase.

As well as being involved in the Developing the Young Workforce initiative, all of the pupils celebrated SQA success on results day last week.

Fraser Reid in S5 gained N2 English, Food Health and Wellbeing, and a Bronze Personal Achievement Award.

He is working towards N2 Maths and ICT.

Fellow S5 Christy Kerr received N2 Food Health and Wellbeing and a Bronze Personal Achievement Award, and is working towards N2 English, Maths, Science and ICT.

Her peer Thomas Connell secured N2 English, Food Health and Wellbeing, a Bronze Personal Achievement Award and is working towards N2 Maths, PE and ICT.

Demi Adeleke from S6, meanwhile, achieved N2 English, ICT and Science, and after finishing school is now going on to West College Scotland to complete a development course.

Anne Stewart, also from S6, gained N2 ICT, a Bronze Personal Achievement Award and N2 units in Maths, English and Scottish Studies.

S5 Emily Green received N2 English, Food Health and Wellbeing and a Bronze Personal Achievement Award, whilst also working towards N2 Maths, ICT and Science.

Fellow S5 Daniel McCarrey secured N2 Maths, Food Health and Wellbeing and Bronze Personal Achievement Award, and is working towards N2 English, ICT and Science.

Joe Lochhead from S6, meanwhile, gained N2 English and ICT, as well as N2 units in Maths and Scottish Studies.

He is now preparing to attend Langside College.
