Barrhead author Chris Brookmyre will take centre stage at the Edinburgh Fringe as he displays his musical skills.

Chris is a member of the Fun Lovin’ Crime Writers, alongside fellow authors Val McDermid, Mark Billingham, Stuart Neville, Luca Veste and Doug Johnstone, who all have a passion for music.

The band will be performing its first ever run of nights at the prestigious Fringe event, with four gigs taking place from Monday, August 8, to Thursday, August 11, at The Stand’s New Town Theatre, in George Street.

In a statement issued ahead of the gigs, the band said: “We happily murder much-loved songs by The Clash, Elvis Costello, The Beatles, Talking Heads, The Jam, The Pretenders, Johnny Cash and many others who are currently considering legal action.

“We’ve rocked the stage at Glastonbury, blown the roof off The Queen’s Hall and performed to international audiences from Reykjavik to Toronto.”

Each of the shows start at 9.15pm and tickets are normally priced at £18 but there is a two-for-one offer available for those who use the ‘FUNLOVIN’ discount code when buying online at thestand.co.uk.

The band will also be performing at the Bute Noir Festival, on the island of Bute, this Friday. To book tickets, visit http://butenoir.co.uk/bute-noir-2022.
