East Renfrewshire residents who plan to make some home improvements are being encouraged to use the Trusted Trader scheme.
A joint initiative between Trading Standards and East Renfrewshire Council, it helps people choose a reliable company when having work done.
All of the businesses on the Trusted Trader list have been vetted by Trading Standards and the scheme is supported by Police Scotland and Citizens Advice Scotland.
All trusted traders have agreed to trade fairly and sign up to a Code of Practice which covers transparent procedures for quoting and carrying out work, only charging a fair and reasonable price and dealing with complaints promptly. The scheme is designed to give residents confidence in who they employ.
Residents can use the Trusted Trader webpage to view feedback and comments left by previous customers.
They are also invited to leave their own feedback once they have chosen a trader and the work has been completed.
