AN activities programme which aims to help East Renfrewshire kids banish boredom during the school holidays kicks off today.
The six-week ‘Summer of Fun’ initiative will include everything from drama courses to activity camps.
It has been organised by East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure (ERCL) and runs from Monday, July 4, until Friday, August 12, at various venues across the local area.
An ‘All Star’ activity camp will take place at Barrhead High School, involving a range of sports such as athletics, gymnastics, archery and golf.
These will conclude with ERCL’s 2022 Celebration Games, where participants will compete in a variety of challenges.
Anthony McReavy, of ERCL, told the Barrhead News: “Our holiday programme is back to full strength this year and our staff can’t wait to welcome everyone along.
“We are bringing back popular camps including Time Travellers arts and drama and Play in a Week drama, as well as sports and activity camps and lots of water activities.
“The camps and classes are sure to keep the kids entertained as they learn skills and make new friends.”
