EAST Renfrewshire Council is urging people to apply to the Place-Based Investment Programme (PBIP) fund for 2022/23.

The initiative, funded by the Scottish Government, is open to applications for capital projects that support local economic development and regeneration such as environmental improvements to neighbourhoods and greenspaces or making better use of land and existing buildings.

Community groups, public sector organisations, charities and private businesses can all apply, on the basis that their proposal doesn’t result in private gain.

East Renfrewshire council leader Owen O’Donnell said: “This is a fantastic regeneration opportunity for our towns and villages.

“We are committed to improving and upgrading areas across East Renfrewshire and this funding allows the community to get involved and get projects moving.”

The deadline for applications is Thursday, June 30, but it is recommended that potential applicants submit expressions of interest to the council’s economic development team prior to applying.
