The winner of the Barrhead news Perfect Pets competition is the most unusual pet of them all.
Trey, the Hermann tortoise, beat all the cats and dogs to win this race to victory.
Rebecca Hickey, Trey’s owner, was over the moon to find out they had won the competition.
The 19-year-old from Neilston said: “Trey was a surprise present for my 19th birthday from Dragon Aquatics in Paisley. I love turtles and tortoises I had been obsessed with them and wanted one for a while.”
The Hermann tortoise will be one in June and Rebecca, who works as an accountant, has already decided what she is going to do with her £300 winnings.
“I already spend a lot of money on Trey. He has a complicated set up, so I’ll use the money on some new exciting things for him.
“He’s my favourite and I’m so proud of him for winning.”
