A 94-year-old woman was rushed to hospital after a crash involving a car and a van on a busy East Renfrewshire road.
The pensioner was travelling in a Volkswagen Tiguan shortly after 2pm on Monday when it collided with a Ford Transit on Lochlibo Road, near Neilston Road, Uplawmoor.
Police and ambulance crews were at the scene within minutes.
Both the elderly woman and a 67-year-old man who was driving the car were rushed to Paisley's Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
No-one in the van was injured.
Lochlibo Road was closed until 2am yesterday as an investigation took place.
No details on the condition of the driver of the Volkswagen have been provided but police confirmed that the elderly woman was kept in hospital.
A spokesperson said: "Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing."
A number of local residents took to social media to express their concern over safety on the stretch of road where the accident took place.
