AN East Renfrewshire schoolboy has reached the final of the Scottish Young Musicians competition.
Ben Dickinson, of Williamwood High, was named Best Solo Performer in the contest’s recent East Renfrewshire heat, run by The Music Education Partnership Group.
He gave a live performance with his French horn as one of eight young musicians who took part at Whitecraigs Golf Club, in Giffnock.
Ben will now compete in the national final at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, in Glasgow, on Sunday, May 29, when he will be up against other regional winners.
Each finalist will perform on stage on their own or with an accompanist, presenting a musical programme of their choice that must last no more than eight minutes.
The overall champion will get the chance to learn from world-class musicians.
