The organiser of bake sale and online fundraiser in Neilston is celebrating the sweet taste of success after coining in £1,800 for charity.
Susan Lamont held the event for Cancer Research UK (CRUK) last month, baking most of the goods herself with some others contributing too.
She was delighted when many friends, family members and neighbours stopped by Kirktonfield Drive to sample the treats on offer and support the cause.
Susan told the Barrhead News: “The bake sale was a great success and we raised more than £900 for CRUK on the day.
“We had great support from so many people. Too many really to mention.
“Huge thanks to everyone who helped, donated online, and came along on the day.
“Their generosity of both their time and hard-earned money is greatly appreciated.”
The Neilston resident was inspired to organise the fundraiser because so many people have been, and sadly, will be affected by cancer, including her friends, family and herself.
“The success of any treatment depends on research and because of the research of CRUK so many cancers can be successfully treated,” she added.
“Anything we can do to help fund the research means more people benefit now and in the future.”
