Members of Neilston Crochet Club are inviting knitters of all abilities to join them at their weekly meetings.

The group gathers at The Bank community hub in the village’s Main Street, run by Neilston Development Trust (NDT), every Thursday, from 1pm to 3pm.

It costs £2.50 to attend each session, with tea and coffee provided, as well as the chance to enjoy a natter while you knit.

A crochet workshop for beginners has also been organised for September and will cost £20 to attend.

A spokesperson for NDT said: “The workshop consists of a six-week course, which will take you through the basic stitches and the completion of your first blanket.

“Spaces are limited and men and women of all ages and abilities are welcome.”

Knitting is said to have become increasingly popular during the coronavirus lockdowns as people turned to relaxing leisure pursuits they could enjoy at home.
