The funeral of much-loved Barrhead businessman Kevin Finnell will take place next week.

Brian MacMillan, Kevin’s husband and business partner, announced on social media that the service will be held at the Hurlet Crematorium at 1pm on Monday, February 28.

Kevin, who was co-founder of F&M Hairdressing, in Cross Arthurlie Street, passed away on Monday, February 14, at the age of 57.

He had been receiving treatment at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital, in Clydebank, after suffering a heart attack the previous week.

In a social media post, Brian wrote: “Kevin will be leaving from our salon that he was so proud of, before travelling through the Main Street to the Crematorium.

"Anyone that wishes to pay their respects will be most welcome.”

Brian has requested family flowers only, with mourners invited to instead donate to the Golden Jubilee ICU Endowment Fund after the service.

He added: “The ICU team that looked after Kevin was sensational, and we’d like to donate towards their training and facilities in Kevin’s honour.”
