MORE than £2500 worth of cash was seized from a man after he was caught with drugs.

Zubar Abdullah was stopped by police whilst he was driving on Midlock Street, Ibrox, on October 5, 2019.

Officers carried out a search of the 26-year-old but didn’t find anything. When they searched the vehicle, they came across £2600 in cash and 47g worth of cannabis.

The procurator told the court the drugs had a value of £400.

Cops also found mobile phones.

Abdullah, of Queen’s Park, was cautioned and charged and made no reply.

He appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court for sentencing after previously pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.

His lawyer explained that his client was “anxious” about the court case.

Sheriff Allan Findlay told Abdullah: “I’ve read your social work report. This was utter stupidity on your part. I will order you to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work as a direct alternative to custody.”

A confiscation order was made for the £2600.
