POLICE have issued a fresh appeal for help to trace a 71-year-old East Renfrewshire man who has been missing for almost two weeks.

David Fletcher, from Giffnock, was last seen in Glasgow city centre on the evening of Thursday, December 9.

He was dropped off by taxi on the Broomielaw, near the King George V Bridge, at around 7.15pm but has not been seen since.

He is described as white, around 5ft 4ins in height, with short grey hair.

When last seen, David was wearing a dark overcoat and flat cap.

Inspector Ryan Curran said: “We have been carrying out extensive enquiries to trace David over the last week since he was reported missing.

“Sadly he remains missing at this time. It is extremely unusual for him to have been out of contact with family and friends for this length of time and we remain very concerned for his welfare.

“I would urge anyone who believes they may have seen David at any time since the evening of Thursday, December 9 to get in touch.

“Anyone who may have dashcam or private CCTV footage from around the Broomielaw area or anything which may show David’s movements is asked to pass this on.”

Anyone who has seen David or who has any information on his whereabouts should contact officers on 101, quoting reference number 1285 of December 14.
