The COCA-COLA Real Magic Tour was spreading festive cheer to families and shoppers today by making its first stop in Glasgow.
The giant red truck was parked outside Silverburn shopping centre, adorned with lights and an image of Santa enjoying an ice-cold Coca Cola.
Santa’s helpers dressed in bright red Coca Cola jackets were handing out free cans of Coca Cola Zero to spread some fizzy festive cheer.
A virtual Santa encouraged visitors to complete some fun interactive games to complete a mystery word as they waited to have their photos taken.
The Real Magic Tour also offered guests the chance to boost their Christmas shopping budget, with the chance to win a £250 Love2shop voucher.
Glasgow marks the tour’s first stop before it travels to Newcastle and Leeds, and more tour stops are expected to be announced soon.
The tour was cancelled last year due to the Covid pandemic, but visitors were delighted with its return.
Jade Bow said: “We came a few years ago and there were massive queues, and it was freezing cold. But they’ve built on it now and made it more of an experience.”
Ally Baird added: “It’s something you see on the TV and remember about Christmas. I’ve got two older boys who remember it well and they’re excited that their little brother can come and see it. It’s nice to have a picture with something so famous.”
The truck is recognisable for its appearances in the annual Coca Cola Christmas advert, which has been shown on TV since 1995.
With the message ‘Holidays Are Coming’, for many it marks the start of the festive season.
The truck will be at Silverburn for free Coca Cola, seasonal selfies and a chance to win a Love2shop voucher from 11am until 8pm on November 24 and 25.
