Four blocks of flats could be demolished in the city's Maryhill as part of a £54 million regeneration plan. 

The project by GHA aims to build hundreds of new energy-efficient homes and they want to consult tenants for their input. 

If the plans go ahead, GHA have assured that residents of multi-storey blocks at 120, 151, 171 and 191 Wyndford Road would be supported to find another home in an area of their choice.

The consultation process will be supported by TPAS, an independent tenant advisory service.

GHA Chair Bernadette Hewitt said: “It’s important the tenant voice is heard at every stage of the process as the community’s views and feedback will directly shape and influence the proposals.

“Tenants in the four blocks identified for demolition will be fully supported to find alternative homes in areas of their choice.”

GHA are proposing this regeneration over a period of five years, and are proposing to tenants that they will improve outdoor spaces, car parking and bin storage, and implement a 24/7 concierge service. 

Other possible plans include introducing new safety and security measures by installing new lighting, and spending an extra £900,000 on improved CCTV and new video door-entry systems. 

They also aim to fit new internal pass doors, communal allotments, electric car charging points, bike stores and introduce community artwork to represent the area's history. 

The consultation opened on November 22 and will run until January 14, 2022.
