BE CHARLOTTE went back to where it all began with a rousing hometown performance.

The singer stormed the stage at Church, Dundee, on the third leg of a tripartite Scottish tour, having knocked down sets in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

No doubt, every hometown show feels just a little bit special – more so, given the inability to perform over the pandemic era.

But it was a notable occasion for Be Charlotte who made her debut at the same venue in her early teenage years.

Speaking in between songs, she told how she took part in an open mic night at Church when around 14 years old or so.

The experience proved to be a platform for the Tayside star who has since travelled the world performing and writing music.

And the joy on the singer's face was clear for all to see on the night as she was able to perform many of the songs from her recent EP for the first time on the three-date tour.

The Dundee set itself was, of course, littered with huge numbers including Rumours Don't Work, Do Not Disturb and Lights Off. The audience was also treated to the likes of Blackbird, You Stole the Summer and an incredible rendition of Burning.

Mention should also be given to support acts Katie Nicoll and Neave Marr who underlined their credentials as emerging acts to follow in the years to come. Both may also find themselves back at the same venue, many years down the line, for a homecoming of their own.

They certainly have the backing of Be Charlotte who has backed the two acts to kick on. And if anyone knows what it takes to rise through the ranks…
