AN event which supports East Renfrewshire businesses has made a welcome return after being put on hold during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Big Networking Breakfast is a chance for local traders to share ideas and have a catch-up over a cuppa and a breakfast roll after many frustrating months of disruption.

A number of businesses were represented at The Bank community hub, in Neilston, as the networking got underway in person again.

Julie Whittaker, of East Renfrewshire Council’s economic development team, also provided those who went along with updates on future funding and grant opportunities.

Linzi Murphy, business advisor at Business Gateway, told the Barrhead News: “After 18 months of Zoom team networking meetings, Business Gateway East Renfrewshire and partners East Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce returned to in-person networking by bringing their business breakfasts back.

“The first was held in The Bank, the newly-refurbished community and business space in the heart of Neilston, run by Neilston Development Trust.”

The breakfast also marked the start of Neilston Development Trust’s ‘Business at The Bank’ programme of events.

Jennifer Carroll, NDT programme co-ordinator, said: “Our community programme has been designed to appeal to a wide demographic and is already attracting lots of interest.”

Networking events at The Bank have also included an afternoon tea with a twist, as renowned chef Prem Singh prepared a special menu which went down a treat with guests.

All of the events organised by NDT are advertised on the organisation’s social media pages. However, anyone who would like more information can also send an email to jennifer.carroll@neilstontrust.co.uk.
