REMEMBRANCE services will be held across central Fife from tomorrow.

The Benarty area's services start with poppy-laying at Ballingry Cemetery at 11am.

A poppy cross will be placed on all of the War Graves. Pupils from both local primary schools will be in attendance to help lay the crosses. All are welcome.

On Remembrance Sunday, the service will be held in the car park behind Lochore Institute due to restrictions. Following the two-minute silence, those in attendance will make their way to the War Memorial where the poppy wreaths will be laid. Anyone who will be laying a wreath is asked to be at the Institute by 12.45pm.

THE Armistice Day event in Cardenden will start on Sunday with a parade through the village getting underway at 10.45am.

It will be led from the Railway Tavern by three pipers and a drummer plus local scouts and cubs and progress to the Auchterderran War Mermorial where the service will take place.

Taking the service will be Rev Donald Lawrie, of Auchterderran Parish Church, and local Priest, Father Brian Gowans.

Said Cardenden Events Committee’s, Alex Burns: “After the service a wreath laying ceremony will take place before the parade heads back to Railway Tavern where some light refreshments will be  available for everyone taking part.”
