Barrhead Housing Association has appointed two new board members.

The organisation said Alan Glasgow and Andrea Paterson bring a wealth of experience to their new roles, which involve running a total of 959 properties across the town and in Neilston.

Mr Glasgow has more than 20 years of experience in housing management.

He said: “I’m looking forward to using my knowledge and experience to benefit the board and leadership at Barrhead and to being a part of the journey of my local housing association.”

Ms Paterson is a founding member of housing consultancy The Indigo House Group and has worked in local and national government since the late 1990s.

She is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy.

“I am delighted to join Barrhead Housing Association and welcome the opportunity to work with the board and leadership team at this time in the organisation’s development,” said Ms Paterson.

The association’s governing board consists of unpaid volunteers.

John Hamilton, chair of Barrhead Housing Association, said: “Andrea and Alan bring a wealth of knowledge and experience and will make a significant contribution to the next chapter of the association.”

In July, Barrhead Housing Association announced a £1million programme of improvements to its homes.

Each of the organisation’s properties in Barrhead and Neilston will be upgraded by next year.
