A HOST of leisure classes are taking place across East Renfrewshire, with activities to keep kids and adults active this autumn.

East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure’s programme offers a wide range of sports.

Outdoor classes include athletics at Barrhead High, Eastwood High and Williamwood High.

There is also hockey and tennis at Eastwood High, as well as football at various locations.

Indoor classes being held locally include gymnastics and netball.

With Covid restrictions being eased, art classes for both adults and children are also back in person for the first time since March last year, with sessions temporarily moving to Fairweather Hall, in Newton Mearns, while Eastwood Park continues to host a coronavirus vaccination centre.

There are drawing and painting lessons for people of all abilities, along with arts and crafts, all delivered by experienced tutors.

Adult outdoor and indoor fitness classes can also be booked online.

Anthony McReavy, of East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure, is encouraging people to take advantage of the opportunity to get active.

He said: “It’s great to see the return of our leisure classes, which boost our physical and mental health and wellbeing.

“Our sports coaches and tutors can’t wait to welcome new faces, along with previous participants, to all of our leisure classes, with a range of indoor and outdoor activities available.”
