Panto will return to East Renfrewshire next month...with those who dream of taking centre stage being offered the chance to grab a starring role.

Production company Spillers have vowed to present a show-stopping magical tale with a modern twist as Peter Pan is performed at Eastwood Park Theatre from Friday, November 26, until Thursday, December 30.

And they are on the lookout for talented East Renfrewshire residents who would like to star alongside the professional cast.

Among the roles up for grabs is Wendy, with children also being sought to play the parts of Michael and John.

A spokesperson for the producers said: “This is a great chance to work on stage in a professional environment and be part of a major production.

“We are looking for a talented local, aged 18 or over, to take on the part of Wendy. We are searching for an excellent actress, fabulous singer and someone who is keen to break into professional theatre.

“There is also a unique opportunity for children to audition to be part of this production.

“Four children will be selected to play the roles of Michael and John.

“Opportunities like this don’t come along very often and could be your lucky break.”

Aspiring actresses are asked to send a short, clear video that shows their personality and stage presence, along with a brief explanation of why they should be chosen for the final auditions.

They should include a one-minute song of their choice and a one-minute acting piece.

Those hoping to audition for the role of Michael or John should send a 15-second video showing their vibrant personality and clear diction.

They should start by stating their name, age and height and then say briefly why they should make it through to the final audition.

All videos should be emailed to pantoauditions@btinternet.com no later than noon on Thursday, October 7.

Applicants who are shortlisted will be invited to the final audition at the Giffnock theatre on Saturday, October 9.

Those who plan to audition are asked to note that they must be able to commit completely to all of the rehearsals and all allocated performances.

Tickets for the panto are on sale now, priced from £9 for children, £11 for concessions and £13 for adults, while a family ticket for two adults and two children starts at £40.
