Fun for all the family was on offer in Barrhead town centre at the weekend.

The Barrhead Family Festival was organised in a bid to give local traders a boost at what has been a tough time, due to the ongoing Covid pandemic.

Street magicians, a juggler and a stilt-walker could be spotted in the town’s Main Street, with a balloon modeller also proving popular as almost 200 balloon models were handed out to excited children.

Bosses at business improvement organisation All About Barrhead were delighted by the event’s success.

Andy Dunlop, All About Barrhead manager, said: “The last 18 months have been so tough on all of us and we’re very keen to bring events back to the town.

“Events like these allow us to bring some activities back to Barrhead whilst we wait on restrictions being fully lifted, hopefully meaning we can host large-scale events like the Hallowe’en Parade and Winter Wonderland later in the year.”
