Fun for all the family will be on offer at Arthurlie Football Club this weekend as it stages an open day.

The Barrhead club is opening the gates at its Dunterlie Park home from noon until 4pm this Saturday, with everyone invited to come along.

There will be a bouncy castle, various stalls and a tombola, with a host of prizes on offer.

A crew from Barrhead Community Fire Station will make a special appearance and supporters will be able to purchase club merchandise and season tickets ahead of the new West of Scotland Football League campaign, which kicks off on July 17.

There will also be action on the pitch, as players from Arthurlie's senior, development and amateur teams compete in an intra-squad friendly tournament.

Club secretary Jim Hannigan told the Barrhead News: “We’re trying to give something back to the community and attract people down to Dunterlie Park.

“Lots of people have moved into Barrhead in recent times and probably don’t even know we are here, so we want to raise awareness about the club.

"Hopefully, our open day can become an annual event.”
