COMIC Relief is working alongside people in the Dunterlie area of Barrhead to offer funding that will bring their community-spirited ideas to life.
Grants of up to £1,500, or £750 for new groups, are available to projects or activities which will benefit residents in the area.
The charity is supporting work around four themes – mental health matters, gender justice, safe place to be and children survive and thrive.
Community groups, charities and third sector organisations are all encouraged to apply for financial support.
Schools are not allowed to apply, although parent groups and parent councils can if they have a volunteer committee in place, as well as their own bank account.
Private businesses, sole traders and individuals are not eligible.
The funding will support ideas which address the Comic Relief themes and “have a strong community benefit for Dunterlie.”
This might include charges for hall hire, training or personal protective equipment (PPE), as well as running costs.
Small capital purchases, such as gazebos and small pieces of equipment, can also be funded.
Ideas which promote political or religious belief will not be able to get a grant.
The grants also cannot go towards part of a larger capital project, such as a contribution to the purchase of a vehicle.
Those interested can apply any time but funds should be spent by October.
