Two men have been arrested following a disturbance in Barrhead at the weekend.
Police were called to the incident in the town's Divernia Way at around 5pm on Saturday.
A 51-year-old man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in Paisley, for treatment and a 41-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, in Glasgow.
Both were later arrested and charged with assault and are due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court at a later date.
Police are urging any witnesses to call them on 101, quoting incident number 2382.
