A BRIDE-TO-BE who was due to tie the knot in Barrhead this month after being diagnosed with terminal cancer has tragically died.
The Barrhead News previously told how Gemma McGowan, 29, was to marry her long-term partner, Steven Murie, at the Dalmeny Park House Hotel on June 11.
Veterinary care assistant Gemma was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma β an incredibly rare and aggressive cancer which attacks the nasal cavity β 13 months ago.
She was one of just three people in the world with the disease and, in March, was told it was terminal.
Gemma and Steven, from Paisley, then accelerated their wedding plans but, sadly, she passed away last Wednesday.
In a social media post, Steven wrote: βShe fought this horrible disease right to the end."
