POLICE have been out in force on roads in East Renfrewshire in a bid to crack down on criminals.
As well as targeting dodgy drivers who are guilty of speeding, members of the community policing team also aim to tackle crooks who rely on the roads network to go about their illegal business.
A spokesperson said: “Our community police continue their road safety action plan, helping to influence driver behaviour and to disrupt criminals who may use roads across East Renfrewshire whilst committing crime.
“This improves public safety and safeguards reputable businesses.”
Among the areas targeted by officers who have carried out speed checks is Waterfoot Road, Newton Mearns.
The spokesperson added: “Please drive safely and be respectful to all other road users.”
