A Barrhead schoolgirl is over the moon after being reunited with her beloved cat who went missing.

Earlier this week, the Barrhead News issued an appeal to find Daisy after the tortoise shell moggy, who will be one next week, vanished from the Auchenback area.

Her disappearance had left her eight-year-old owner Darci McClure struggling to sleep and in bits without her best friend.

Before she went missing, the pair had been inseparable and according to Darci’s mum Carrie, the cat has helped her daughter through many things.

The family left a window open in the hope that Daisy would make her way home and that is exactly what she did during the second night of her disappearance.

“She is home. I had left the window open, so it was a lovely surprise in the morning. She seems okay and has eaten a lot, “ Carrie told the Barrhead News.

“My daughter went back to school a happy girl.

"I just want to thank everyone that shared the post and looked out for her.

“The amount of lovely comments and likes on social media about her being home again has been overwhelming.”
