Family favourites The McDougalls will take centre stage in East Renfrewshire next month as they present their latest show.

The McDougalls Big Splash will be available for households to watch from home during the Easter holidays, from April 2-10.

Eastwood Park Theatre, run by East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure (ERCL), was awarded a grant from the Scottish Government, through Creative Scotland, as part of efforts to support performing arts venues that are currently unable to open to the public.

The funding is being used to bring shows to the stage that can be enjoyed virtually, while supporting local artists, as well as planning for a sustainable return to the theatre.

The McDougalls said: “We’ve been so excited to be back filming in Eastwood Park Theatre but we’re missing our audience.

“Join us online, as we’re sure you’ll love our brand new show full of underwater fun.”

The latest production follows the success of The McDougalls’ first virtual Christmas show, which was filmed at the Giffnock theatre and broadcast to homes, schools and nurseries in the local area.

It sees Max, Auntie Aggie and Morag the Rabbit swim deep under the sea for an enchanting adventure that is packed with musical mayhem.

The show is packed with seaside singalong songs, audience participation and musical mayhem.

Anthony McReavy, of ERCL, said: “We look forward to welcoming family favourites The McDougalls back to our stage this spring and to help keep kids entertained while they’re at home this Easter, thanks to support from Creative Scotland.”

“Eastwood Park Theatre is a vibrant arts and culture venue at the heart of our community and we look forward to welcoming everyone back when we can reopen safely.”

Tickets for The McDougalls Big Splash cost £8 per household, with a selection of dates to choose from.
