A TEAM of fundraisers from a Barrhead-based charity is to take part in this year’s Virtual Kiltwalk.
The tartan-themed walking event has raised tens of millions of pounds for worthy causes across Scotland in recent years.
However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 event was cancelled.
And, as lockdown restrictions continue, organisers are encouraging volunteers to take part in this year’s event virtually when it is staged from Friday, April 23, to Sunday, April 25.
Among those who will be offering their support are a team from the Include Me 2 Club (IM2C), based in Barrhead’s Main Street.
The money they raise will be used to fund the charity’s work with people who have additional support needs, a disability or mental health condition, as well as those living in isolation.
A spokesperson for IM2C said: “The coronavirus pandemic has impacted everyone, as well as our abilities to fundraise like we usually would, so we are aiming to raise some funds through this year’s Virtual Kiltwalk.
“You can join our team to raise some funds, where you can walk, jog, run or cycle and you can do as many miles as you like, raising as much for your chosen charity.”
If you would like to take part and support IM2C’s efforts, you can register with the team HERE.
