GOOD causes are in line for a welcome windfall, courtesy of the Rotary Club of Barrhead.

The organisation has £1,000 to give away to various local causes in the form of small grants as a new year gets underway.

Any charitable or volunteer-led organisation in the Levern Valley area of East Renfrewshire can apply.

Douglas Yates, interim president of Barrhead Rotary, said: “Maybe your organisation could benefit from a wee injection of cash to help you complete a project or start another initiative.

“If you wish to apply for a small grant of up to £100, then just send an email to our secretary, Ian Macpherson.

“Let him know about your organisation and what you would like to achieve with a small grant. It’s a case of nothing ventured, nothing gained. There is no application form, just a simple email to be sent.”

Douglas is also keen for more people to make a new year resolution to join Barrhead Rotary in 2021, so it can continue to support local organisations, as well as raising funds for worthy causes across the UK and internationally.

The club will welcome interest from potential new members of all ages, gender and ethnic background.

As well as being able to help others, becoming a Rotarian offers people the chance to make friends in their own community and throughout the world.

Anyone who would like to apply for a grant or is interested in becoming a Rotarian should send an email to ian.g.rotary@btinternet.com.
