AN online event will take place this week to help East Renfrewshire firms win new contracts.

East Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce (ERCC) is working in partnership with East Renfrewshire Council to deliver their latest Supply Chain event.

This is an opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to network and hear from existing and former council suppliers on how to win tenders.

Suppliers will be sharing their stories of success and giving tips on how other businesses can maximise opportunities when it comes to being a supplier for the local authority and other public sector organisations.

Delegates will hear from a number of speakers representing contractors currently working on various projects in East Renfrewshire, including CCG and City Technical Services.

Laura Molloy, ERCC president, said: “We connect supply chain members with major projects in the area, in partnership with primary contractors and East Renfrewshire Council, and events like these play an essential part of this process.

“We are delighted to be able to facilitate a connection between suppliers and buyers.”

Councillor Tony Buchanan, leader of East Renfrewshire Council, added: “It’s an extremely tough time for local business owners and we are doing all we can to support them.

“This free event is just one initiative and has been created to help local businesses gain insights from others in order to give them the best chance to win tenders, which is a crucial way of securing business for many organisations.”

The event takes place online this Thursday, from 9.30am until 11am, and anyone who would like to take part must register in advance.
