HILARIOUS photographs of an East Renfrewshire girl before and after her first day at school that went viral a year ago have now been shared by an award-winning American actress.

Tracee Ellis Ross – daughter of legendary singer Diana Ross – took to Instagram to share the Barrhead News post with her 9.5million followers.

Jillian Falconer's snaps of her daughter Lucie's first day at Neilston Primary had already entertained people across the world in August last year.

One of the photos shows Lucie looking pristine in her uniform, with a neat hairstyle and a big smile on her face as she looks forward to starting school.

However, side-by-side with that snap is a photo of Lucie returning home from lessons...with her tie and socks skew-whiff, her hair in a mess and sporting a serious frown.

The original post on the Barrhead News Facebook page gained 15,500 shares and 6,300 comments – and the attention did not stop there, as national and international news platforms picked up on the story, with the likes of the BBC and New York Post helping to spread Lucie's fame.

Ms Ross is best known for her lead roles in hit television shows such as Girlfriends and Black-ish.

Her role as Rainbow Johnson on Black-ish earned her a Golden Globe in 2017 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy.
