AN East Renfrewshire charity has received a funding boost from a trio of homebuilders to help those in need during the coronavirus pandemic.
A cheque for £3,400 has been handed to East Renfrewshire Good Causes (ERGC) as part of a partnership with local consortium Maidenhill.
The handover coincides with the news that Miller Homes has now joined CALA and Taylor Wimpey as part of the partnership, meaning ERGC will benefit from an additional £3,000 over the duration of the programme.
Taylor Wimpey West Scotland and CALA Homes (West) previously pledged to make a ‘roof donation’ for each house bought during the first phase of the Maidenhill development, in Newton Mearns.
And with Miller Homes now on board, a total of £12,250 will be donated once all of the properties have been snapped up.
Founded by Russell Macmillan, ERGC is a grassroots charity which focuses on providing support to a range of worthy causes across East Renfrewshire, including care homes.
Mr Macmillan said: “This donation couldn’t have come at a better time. The economic impact of Covid-19 is being felt by a lot of people in the area.”
