A CITY Celtic pub has revealed two staff members have tested positive for Covid-19.

The Brazen Head in the Gorbals however insists it is business as usual after closing for ULV Biofogging which is a cleaning process which involves a machine used to kill germs and bacteria on all surfaces.

The pub, which was once known as the Granite City Inn, released a statement on Facebook.

The statement said: "Due to two members of staff testing positive for COVID-19 and concern for other staff members, our customers and the wider community we took the decision to close the bar on Tuesday, despite not being asked or told to.

"This allowed us to bring in a company to carry out a ULV Biofogging which we will now carry out every eight weeks.

"As it could take up to five days for Test and Trace to contact the staff members I felt it was the correct thing to do to let customers know that the members of staff concerned were working Saturday and Sunday from 5 pm.

"All other staff that were in close contact have been for a test even though none are showing symptoms and will not return to work until test results are back.

"Please be assured everyone’s safety is our main concern, hope to see you all soon and it’s business as usual."

The pub added: "We are back open and it's business as usual. Hail Hail."

We reported in May that the Brazen Head unveiled it's tribute to Celtic's nine-in-a-row league win and it featured Scott Brown. The pub unveiled a special tribute banner to the player who has been at the club since 2007 on the front of their building this week.
