A NURSERY in East Renfrewshire has temporarily closed after a positive coronavirus case was identified.
Contact tracing is being carried out by a Test and Protect team at the pre-school in Braidbar Primary, Giffnock, amid concerns over the spread of coronavirus.
Bosses at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) have said there is currently no evidence of transmission within the school itself.
An East Renfrewshire Council spokesperson told Barrhead News: "Following notification of a positive test linked to Braidbar Nursery Class, we made colleagues at Public Health aware and are following all necessary procedures.
"In line with the guidance provided by Public Health, the nursery has been closed temporarily.
"Parents have also been informed of the measures we are taking.”
Due to the current lockdown restrictions in East Renfrewshire, any close contacts of someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 are being advised that they and all those in their household group should self-isolate for 14 days.
