COPS have promised to up patrols in Dennistoun after a spate of bike thefts. 

Locals have taken to social media to complain about a number of incidents where cycles were stolen from outside homes in the area. 

Police have confirmed they are currently looking into two thefts and say officers will be out on the streets in the coming days.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We can confirm that enquiries are ongoing into reports of two bike thefts in the Dennistoun area of Glasgow. 

“Officers will continue to patrol the area and will be on hand to respond to any further reports from the public.

“Police Scotland’s community officers also remain focussed on identifying any potential crime trends in the area, as they develop, and will respond accordingly.

Anyone with information on any bike thefts in the area is asked to call police on 101.
