POLICE are hunting a thug who robbed a teenager in a Renfrewshire street.

The 17-year-old boy, who was with two friends, was targeted in Corsebar Road, Paisley, at around 9pm on Thursday.

Before the incident, the boys had approached the suspect to offer help after spotting him trying to repair his bicycle.

The teenagers walked away after the man became aggressive towards them but he followed them and threatened the 17-year-old.

After robbing the teenager, the thug made off in the direction of Cross Road.

The suspect is described as in his late 30s, around 5ft 9ins tall, with black facial hair and speaks with a local accent.

At the time, he was wearing a blue jacket with a grey tracksuit underneath.

Detective Inspector Ian Ross, of Renfrewshire CID, told The Gazette: “This was a horrible experience for the boys involved.

"Anyone who was in the area on Thursday night and may have seen the suspect or who has any other information is urged to come forward.”
