A MAN has been arrested after an alleged assault on a pensioner in Renfrew.
It is claimed the 27-year-old suspect struck the 81-year-old man in the face in Britannia Way at around 10.20pm on Friday.
A 28-year-old man was also reportedly attacked when he tried to protect the OAP.
The pensioner was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in Paisley, where he received treatment for facial injuries.
Police confirmed that a report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
